Funeral service for Robbie Nix, age 98, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Ms. Nix passed away at Whispering Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winnsboro, Texas on Monday, July 7, 2025.
Robbie Lee Nix was born on August 16, 1926 in Scurry, Texas to Robert Carl and Mamie Lee (Humphrey) Wood. She married Charles L. Nix in Rockwall, Texas on May 10, 1949. Robbie was a devout Christian mentor all her life. She was a hardworking homemaker for her family. Robbie sang in a gospel trio that performed in the Dallas Metroplex area. Her entire life consisted of loving her family and the Lord. She lived a long and full life and then went home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Robbie is survived by her son, Eddie Nix of Sulphur Springs; daughter, Donna Hamilton (Ray) of Gladwater, Texas; grandchildren, Luke Nix, Christi Boyer, Jeff Hoke, Saundra Davis, Michele Bennett, and Eric Nix; twelve great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; sister, Edith Tedder of Greenville, Texas; brother, Doug Wood of McKinney, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mamie Wood; husband, Charles L. Nix; sister, Glenda Haggard; brothers, J.D. Wood and Richard Stanley Wood; and son, Bobby Lynn Nix.
