Robert Adair Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. Nicholas Funeral Home & Cremation Services, LLC on Feb. 7, 2026.
Robert T. Adair, 72, of Mineral Ridge, passed away suddenly on January 17, at his residence. Born November 25, 1953, in Warren, Ohio, Robert was the son of William and Elizabeth (Law) Adair. Robert was a 1972 graduate of Mineral Ridge High School and a 1976 graduate of Kent State University. While at Kent State, he was a four-year letterman of the football team and a proud member of the 1972 MAC Championship Team who played in the Tangerine Bowl. On July 13, 1974, Robert married his high school sweetheart, the former Margie Thomas, and together they raised three children. Robert was a charismatic and generous man who truly enjoyed helping others. His hobbies included woodworking, tinkering with his 1968 Chevy pickup, turning trash into treasure, fishing, hunting, and golf (when he was younger). Robert worked 40+ years at the steel mill in Warren (last known as RG Steel) primarily as a General Supervisor of the BOF. A job he was proud of and loved to share stories about. In "retirement", Robert served as a permanent substitute teacher for Mineral Ridge Schools. A lifelong teacher in both the classroom and in life, he was known for his love of storytelling, his warm personality, and his devotion to family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, William Adair Jr., Patricia Bray, and Daniel Adair; and his granddaughter, Kayleigh Kucera. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margie; his children, Robert T. Adair (Jen), Barbara Kucera (Chuck), and Paul Adair (Anna Gault); his grandchildren, Riley, Isaac, Cady-Bryn, Keaton, Kerrigan, Kennedy, and Rhys; and his siblings, Mary Hegel, Mark Adair (Linda), and Ginger Restuccio. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road, Canfield. A service will follow at the church at 12:00 p.m. To reflect Robert's easygoing and welcoming personality, guests are welcome to dress casually or in their favorite athletic attire. Memorial contributions may be made to Mineral Ridge Schools, Cafeteria Fund or Seaborn Teacher Fund, 1334 Seaborn St., Mineral Ridge, OH 44440.
