Four Oaks, NC: Mr. Robert Edward Allen, age 75, passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral Services will be 3:00PM-Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, NC. Rev. John Norman, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Four Oaks City Cemetery in Four Oaks, NC.
Mr. Allen was born on February 19, 1949 in Johnston County, NC to the late Ira Allen, Jr., and Mary Ann Strickland Allen. Mr. Allen owned and operated Smithfield Typewriter Sales & Service, and later worked with House Autry and Becton Dickinson in Four Oaks, NC until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Four Oaks, NC. Nothing mattered more to Robert than his faith and spending time with his wife, Rose, his children, and his grandchildren. He was also an avid cyclist and could be found most anywhere riding one of his many bikes.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Rose L. Allen; daughter, Summer Rose McLamb; son, Casey Allen, and girlfriend, Aliyah Fowlkes; grandchildren, Allison McLamb, Caleb McLamb, Katherine McLamb, and Jonathan McLamb; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30PM-2:45PM Tuesday, February 27, 2024 in the fellowship hall of the First Baptist Church in Four Oaks, NC.
