Robert B. "Bob" Austin

Robert ("Bob") B. Austin. Age 84. Lifelong Olympia Fields and Flossmoor resident. Graduate of Leavitt Avenue Grade School Class of 1954 where he was the captain and high scorer of the 7th and 8th grade Basketball Team. Graduate of Bloom High School Class of 1958 where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Golf Team and Judicial Council. Graduate of Denison University Class of 1962. He was a Fraternal Brother and Vice President of the Phi Delt Fraternity, played on the golf team, Member of the Judicial Council. Received his Law Degree from the University of Chicago in 1965. Worked 40 years as an Attorney for Lord, Bissell & Brook and Anderson Rasor & Partners, primarily focusing on Medical Malpractice Defense. In addition, Bob was Chairman of the Department of Medical Malpractice Defense at Lord Bissell from 1990 – 2002, Member and Board of Directors of the Society of Trial Lawyers, inducted into the American College of Trial Lawyers in 1990, 5-year Board of Director of School District 161, and lifelong member at Olympia Fields Country Club where he served as President from 2000 - 2002. Husband for 37 years of the late Lois nee Langlois. Father of Michael (Wendy) Austin and Carrie (Kelly) Eberspecher. Grandfather of Sophie and Jaclyn Eberspecher. Son of the late Louise nee Crew and Richard B Austin. Brother of William (late Susan) Austin and David (Mary) Austin. Uncle and friend of many. Dearest companion of Sandy Haggman. Memorial gathering at the Episcopal Church of St John, 2640 Park Avenue, Flossmoor on Saturday October 12, 2024 with visitation beginning at 10:00 am and the Memorial Service beginning at 11 :00 am. Future private burial in Tomahawk, Wisconsin.
