Robert David Baker, age 80, passed away December 18, 2025 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.

He was born April 25, 1945 in Charleston, MO, son of the late Robert Lee Baker and Ruby June LeVan-Baker.

Robert was of the Nazarene faith. He served in the U.S. Army and had an honorable discharge. He received honors for National Defense, Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, one Overseas Service Bar, Combat Infantryman's Badge, 2nd Class Gunner (M-60), Marksman Badge (M-16), and Sharpshooter (M-14). He had been Custodian for 76 Truck Stop in Matthews, MO before retiring.

He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and he enjoyed watching westerns.

In 1995, he was married to Hester Mae Duncan-Baker, she preceded him in death in 2007.

He is survived by one son, Kevin (Michelle Eye) Baker; two brothers, Norman Baker and Earl (Nat) Baker; two sisters, Michelle (Tony) Riggins Wilma (Rocky) Stewart; three grandchildren, Kevin Lee Baker II, Liberty Baker, and Jayden Baker; one great-grandchild, Yazmin ' Yazzy' Baker; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Baker; and one sister, Patsy Mathis-Talley.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 23, from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:30 a.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

Interment service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, MO with full military honors.
