Robert Hall Baker Jr.

.Robert Hall Baker Jr. 83 died on Wednesday December 24, 2025 in Salvisa, KY. He was the son of the late Robert H. Baker Sr. and Anna Margaret King Baker. Bob as he was affectionally called, was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a retiree from IBM after 35 years. He played baseball from an early age and played in the Minor Leagues while in Roswell, New Mexico. He continued playing softball well into his 50's and loved attending UK baseball games. He was a lifelong fan of all UK sports and also an avid reader. He loved working in his yard and planting trees.

He is survived by his daughter Kimberley Baker (son-in-law Omer Cowherd Jr.), son Robert H. Baker III, three grandsons, Matthew (Skylar) Baker, Brandon (Sommer) Baker and Jacob (Erica) Baker, two great-grandchildren, Ophelia and Bennett Baker. Also survived by his sister Wanda Lewis of Middleburg, Florida, two nephews, Brent and Chad Lewis, several great-nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, friends and a long time special friend, George Brown. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday January 2, 2026 at Pilgrim Baptist Church 541 Jefferson St. Lexington, KY Visitation at 12:00 pm and Funeral at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Lexington Cemetery
