Robert W Barnes

Robert Wilson Barnes, 75, of Lexington, Kentucky, returned to his Heavenly Father on February 8th, 2024. He was a man of great faith and will be deeply missed by his loved ones. Bob, as he was affectionately known, had a successful career in the seafood industry, earning national sales awards for his outstanding achievements. He was particularly passionate about grilling and took great pleasure in preparing delicious meals for family and friends. Bob also had a love for horseracing and enjoyed spending time at Keeneland most Saturdays. Bob would drop anything to help friends or family in need, particularly with a difficult painting project. You could find him most mornings sharing stories with his friends at Panera.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Diana, his son Brent, his daughter Terra (Mitch) Greenwell, and his two beloved grandchildren Nash and Reid. He also leaves behind his sisters Patti (Cliff) Lang, and Bonnie (David) Mehl, and his brother Don (Sharon) Barnes, and a great many numbers of friends and family. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Hubert Barnes; siblings David and Glenda. Bob will forever be remembered as a devoted family man, a man of faith, and a lover of life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Kerr Brothers - Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:30 pm. Thursday. Contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Pl, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
