Robert Eugene Barnes Jr.

Robert Eugene Barnes Jr., 67, of Salem, IA, died at noon on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Born August 27, 1954, in Macomb, IL, he was the son of Robert Eugene Barnes and Catherine Almeada Bollinger Feehan.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from July 17, 1972 until September 3, 1976.
Bobby worked for Heatilator for many years and designed fireplaces.
He was dedicated to the Lord and was ordained. He was very crafty and artistic and enjoyed inventing things. He enjoyed fishing, and taking walks to the creek to find arrow heads and stones. His pride and joy was his beloved dogs.
Survivors include his children, Steven Robertson of Chicago, IL, Misty Zuffa of Oklahoma, Adam Bates of Oklahoma, and Kenny Wilson of Mt. Pleaseant, IA; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Connie (Gary) Henry of Carman, IL, and Pam Scott of Salem, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Becky Jo Barnes
His passing is not the end but the beginning. We will meet again, but until then, happy thoughts.
The Graveside Committal Service for Mr. Barnes will be 1:00 PM, Friday, May 27, 2022 at Keokuk National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the service will meet at the Prugh-Thielen Funeral Home prior to the service for a procession departing at noon to the cemetery.
A memorial has been established.
