Robert "Bob" Barrett, 78, of Evansville, passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital. He was born February 17, 1945 in Evansville to Delbert and Ramona (DeToro) Barrett.
Bob graduated from Memorial High School in 1963 and the University of Evansville in 1967. He was a member of Annunciation Parish-Christ the King Church. After graduation, Bob worked as a teacher and a banker, and later in real estate.
Bob was a born coach - first coaching his children's basketball, baseball, and soccer teams. Later, he focused on basketball, with stints as an assistant coach at University of Evansville and Brescia University and at Memorial High School, and as head coach of the women's team at University of Southern Indiana.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Donna (Dickhart) Barrett; sons, Shane (Nancy) Barrett and Ryan (Shelby) Barrett; grandchildren, Escher, Gavin, Tarpley, Pate, and Wade.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, William Barrett and Delbert Barrett, Jr.
Private services will be held at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Reitz Memorial High School, 1500 Lincoln Avenue, Evansville, IN 47714.
