Robert U. Barth

Age 87, of Au Gres, Michigan, passed away on August 31, 2025, at his home. Robert was born on July 30, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Roy and Marie (Scupin) Barth. Following high school Robert attended college for a period of time before eventually entering the workforce as an Industrial Valves Salesperson. He had his own business that he owned and operated for many years, and he really enjoyed his work. Robert resided in Fairfield Glades, Tennessee, for 20 years before he relocated himself up to Au Gres, Michigan, in September of 2023.

On October 21, 1966, he married the love of his life, Rosemary M. (Weiler) Barth. The two of them shared 59 amazing years of marriage, taking on life together and raising a family of four daughters. Robert's family meant the world to him, and he truly enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them. Another integral part of his life was his dogs. He was the proud "dog father" of Heidi, Pepper, Scooby Dee, Champagne, Sassy, Mocha, Ink Spot, and Precious. Some of Robert's favorite hobbies included golfing, bowling, playing poker, euchre, monopoly, chess, camping with his family and friends, traveling, and reading suspense/history books. Robert was a huge Detroit Lions fan as well. He held season tickets for several years dating back to the Silverdome days and continued to be a passionate fan for them even after he moved to Tennessee. Robert was also a proud member of the Royal Oak Elks before he transferred to the Cumberland County Crossville Elks, and a member of golf leagues in Fairfield Glades.

Robert is survived by his three daughters, Charlene Scyzoryk, Shon (Arnold) Larm, and Misty (Shaun A.) Devault; grandchildren, Andrea Benedict, Daymon Scyzoryk, Kody (Paige) Larm, Austin (McKenna) Larm, Aaron (Monique) Larm, Boston Suhr, Shaun M. Devault, and Mickey Suhr; great grandchildren, Jaxon Scyzoryk, Krew Larm, Zachariah Larm, and Estella Larm. In addition to his parents Roy and Marie, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, Roy Barth; and his daughter, Laura Benedict.

A celebration of life will be held for Robert at the American Legion in Holly, Michigan (408 S. Saginaw Street, Holly, Michigan 48442), on Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM. Please send any pictures you may have to mistydevault2015@gmail.com.
