Robert Lee Baymon

Robert Lee Baymon, of Rockford departed this earthly life January 15, 2025. He was born May 31, 1951 in Indianola, MS the son of Richard Baymon and Richard Tillmon. Robert lived in Rockford since 1995 coming from Virginia. He married the former Millie Shivers, April 15, 1980. Robert was employed as a laborer by Lowes Distribution Center, before getting injured. He was a veteran of the US Army and the National Guard. Robert was a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He attended schools in Chicago, later to receive his G.E.D. from OIC; and attended Rock Valley College.
Robert leaves to cherish many loving memories, his wife, Millie Baymon; son, Darnell Baymon; daughter, Delicia Baymon-Harris; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents; sisters, Beatrice Gulley and Ida B. McLaurin; and brothers James and Sam.
Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
