Robert Edward Belote

ROBERT EDWARD BELOTE age 75 of Sturgis, Michigan died Tuesday afternoon February 19, 2008 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

He was born February 9, 1933 in Colon, Michigan a son to the late Frank Ellsworth & Cecile May (Warner) Belote.

Bob had resided in Sturgis since 1955. On December 31, 1955 he married Josephine H. VanBlarcum in Coldwater. She died September 28, 1997.

Following over 30 years of dedicated employment he retired from the Kirsch Company in Sturgis. Before joining the Kirsch Co. he had worked at M&R Laboratories in Sturgis.

Bob was an avid golfer and bowler and was currently involved in several leagues. In earlier years he had played in factory softball leagues. He enjoyed playing cards and being a “Gentleman Farmer” on his small farm in Bronson.

He is survived by 4 Sons; Steven E. Belote, John W. (Teresa) Belote, Robert A. (Christine) Belote and Gary L. Belote all of Sturgis, 3 Grandchildren; Tyler, Michael and Matthew Belote, 1 Sister; Ivabelle Large of Sturgis, 1 Brother; Harold Belote of Sturgis and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife, 3 sisters; Hazel Kline, Frances Bell, Betty Stuchell and 3 brothers; Richard Belote, Kenneth Belote and Larry Belote preceded him in death.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday at the *HACKMAN-Foglesong Funeral Home* of Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert Belote will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Brian Poole of the Sturgis Wesleyan Church will officiate. A committal service will be held in the chapel of Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater following the funeral service.
