Robert E. Bishop

Robert Edward Bishop, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, died Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at the age of eighty-one. Mr. Bishop was a 1962 graduate of Fairhope High School and began farming full time until later in life when he became a commercial truck driver. Robert loved his family and friends, but especially his grandson Charles with whom he shared much advice and many life lessons. He was a true farmer at heart, taking pleasure watching things grow and mature so he could gather and share the crop with family and friends. In his early life he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Bishop was a member of Barnwell Baptist Church and always sat on the outside back row every Sunday!
Preceding him in death are his parents, Aaron and Ruby and four of his brothers, Gerald, Clifford, James and David. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Linda McMahon Bishop, his son, Charlie and grandson Charles all of Fairhope. Also surviving are his sister, Betty Robbins, of Laurel, MS and his brother, Clarence (Sandra) Bishop along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 3pm, Tuesday May 27, 2025, at Brook-Cedron Cemetery in Barnwell. Pastors Buddy Hanson and Jerry Caylor will be officiating.
