ROBERT L. BIVENS
Robert L. Bivens, 87, a resident of Cross Keys Village, New Oxford, passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2023.
Born December 9, 1935 in Harrisburg he was the son of the late John M. And Mary E. (Faust) Bivens. He was the widower of Shirley M. (Lowery) Bivens who died July 21, 2002.
Bob was retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania where he worked in Microfilm production. He previously had been employed by Gulf Oil Corporation as a service station District Manager and had owned Bivens Gulf Service in Mechanicsburg. Bob honorably served his country in the PA National Guard, 28th MP CO. at Ft. Indiantown Gap.
Surviving are his wife: Ann L (Snyder) Bivens of McSherrystown, three sons Robert Bivens (Donna) of Schwenksville, James Bivens (Robin) of Abbottstown and Jeffrey “Scott” Bivens (Sarah) of Benson, AZ and stepson Dan Keeney (Pam) of Mcsherrystown Also surviving are a sister Jean Basehore (Don) of Mechanicsburg, 18grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter Diane M. Bivens and several siblings.
Funeral services will held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM from the Ronan Funeral Home, 255 York Road Carlisle with Pastor Manny Gonzalez officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs. Viewing will be at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of service.
