Robert "Bobby" Blackwell

Robert Sedell Blackwell, age 79, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 with his family by his side.

Bobby was born October 02, 1946, in Mena, Arkansas to the late Sedell Blackwell and Dorothy Prudence (Crow) Blackwell.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving from 1966-1968, and an active member of the Cherry Hill community since 1978. Bobby was a lifelong rancher and enjoyed raising cattle and chickens. In 1998, he started Blackwell's Poultry Bedding which served customers throughout Arkansas, Missouri, and Oklahoma for over 20 years until his retirement. Bobby always sought out ways to help those in need and gave freely of his time and knowledge. During retirement, he found enjoyment in gardening, spending time with family, and Sunday morning breakfast with his friends at The Corner.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother; grandson, Brendan Goss; brother, Ronnie Blackwell; and sister, Sharon Martinez. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon Blackwell; son, Robert Blackwell, and wife, Sadie, of NLR, AR; daughter, Rita Miller, and husband, Dax, of Benton, AR; brother-in-law, Frank Martinez of Mena, AR; and six grandchildren, Andrew Blackwell, Dalton Blackwell, Harrison Blackwell, Macy Blackwell, Presley Eversole, and Nora Blackwell. There are a host of other relatives and friends that will sadly miss and remember him fondly.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas with Brother Michael Callahan officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Nunley Cemetery in Nunley, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Blackwell, Dalton Blackwell, Harrison Blackwell, Dax Miller, Dale Howard, Jerry Hansbrough, Ed McCormick, and Raymond Merrill.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Blackwell and Kevin Day.
