Bob was born February 25, 1939, in Mineral, IL, the son of George and Jessie Gabriel. He grew up in Erie and attended Erie Schools. Bob served his country in the US Army. He married Carole A. Duffy on October 22, 1965. Bob owned and operated his own semi-truck for a number of years. He eventually went to work as a mechanic for the former Moline Consumers, from where he retired. Bob spent the last 4 years with his daughters in Moline. Bob loved being outdoors, working in his garden and yard and tinkering around the farm. He was quite the handyman and could fix anything. He enjoyed watching Westerns and was a Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy buff. Bob loved his pets, especially his fur grandbaby Gabi.

He is survived by his 3 children, James (Cheryl) Gabriel, Bettendorf, Christine Gabriel, Moline, Kathleen Gabriel, Moline; brothers, Bernard Gabriel, Albany, IL, and David (Rose) Gabriel, Erie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carole, fur baby Dillon and siblings, Ronald and Judith. Share a memory or condolence at www.gibsonbodefh.com
