Robert James Gibson, 87, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024, surrounded by his family in his home, in Mount Vernon.  Bob was born January 13, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio, to Elbert James and Thelma Marie {Gillespie} Gibson .

After graduating from Reynoldsburg High School, Bob joined the Navy for several years. He married Beverly Redding on March 11th, 1961. He was a self-employed garage door installer. He could fix nearly anything. He loved to fish and watch Ohio State football and basketball. 

Bob will be deeply missed by his children, Bobby (Kim) Gibson, Carlena (Scott) Rieser, Peggy (Roger) Willis, Garth Gibson; grandchildren Branden (Beth), Rhianne (Eric), Stephanie (CJ), Josh, Zach, Alissa (Joe), Kyle (Gabbie), Harrison, Evan, Grace, Macintyre; and fourteen great-grandchildren.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Edith and Shirley. 

Friends may call Saturday October 19, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Mount Vernon Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with military honors. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Flowers are welcome.
