Eickenhorst Funeral ServicesRobert “Bob” Guier, 76, of The Woodlands, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on October 12, 2025, after a lengthy battle with heart and kidney disease.
Bob was born on December 12, 1948, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Kenneth and Evelyn Guier. After graduating from St. Mary’s Catholic School, he attended Central State University, where he earned degrees in mathematics and chemistry.
Bob began his career with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture as a research technician. He then joined Conoco in maintenance engineering before moving his family to The Woodlands, Texas, where he retired from DuPont. Bob was a member of the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) and later became part of the NACE Certification Team. Over the course of his career, Bob became a respected leader in the industrial coatings and corrosion industry around the world and later founded RJGuier Coatings and Consulting, continuing his reputation as one of the best in the business.
In 1971, Bob married his St. Mary’s sweetheart, Terry Bullard, beginning a 54-year marriage. They raised three children and built a home filled with love and laughter.
Bob learned the importance of service when he earned the title of Eagle Scout. As an adult, he continued his involvement in his community, serving as a board member for the United Way, donating blood regularly, serving in various ministries in the Catholic Church, coaching youth sports, and even acting as the self-appointed neighborhood groundskeeper. He had a love for cooking, his lawn, his golf clubs, his dogs, and, most of all, his family. He was known for his endless energy, often up before sunrise, already finishing his 10-mile walk and washing every car in sight before most people had their first cup of coffee.
Even in his final weeks, Bob found the strength to attend one last ballgame, proudly watching his grandson play baseball. To the very end, Bob showed up for the people he loved most.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Terry Guier; his children, all of The Woodlands, Texas, Merrick Dautrich and her husband, Jimmy, and their children, Corry and Drew; Deachi Payne and her husband, Matt, and their children, Calyn and Max; and Olech Guier and his wife, Lindsay, and their children, Sutton and Easton. He is also survived by his brother, Kenneth “Butch” Guier Jr., and his wife, Karyn of Pensacola, Florida; and his sister, Sandi Harris and her husband, Warren of Ft. Mill, South Carolina; along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth R. Guier Sr. and Evelyn Olech Guier.
A funeral Mass for Bob will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in The Woodlands, Texas.
Bob will be remembered for his humor, his work ethic, his devotion to family, and his legendary spirit. He will never be forgotten.
