January 16, 1950 – July 20, 2025

Robert “Bob” Derrell Jacobsen, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 20, 2025, in St. George, UT. Born on January 16, 1950 in Pocatello, ID to Verland (Jake) and Joanne Jacobsen. Bob has two sisters, Debbe and Judy, whom he loved and looked out for throughout his life.

In his early life, Bob developed his strong work ethic by working alongside his father selling tires in one of the many family service stations. When he was 18, he proudly volunteered for the Air Force Reserves during the Vietnam war and that same sense of duty and service permeated every facet of his life.

Bob married the love of his life, Jane Russon, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years together. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City temple. Together they raised four children: Andrea (Kennon), Jake (Holli), Tyler (Steffinee), and Ryan (Brittany). He was a proud and loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren who brought immense joy into his life. He also cherished the memory of his eldest grandson, Hayden Tubbs, who preceded him in death at the age of 18.

Bob earned a degree in Business Administration from both ASU and Weber State Universities. He enjoyed a distinguished 21-year career in medical sales with American Hospital Supply and Baxter Healthcare. Bob was widely respected for his integrity, negotiation skills, and work ethic. He received multiple top accolades throughout his career.

In his 40’s, Bob decided it was time to focus on what was most important to him - his loving wife Jane, and his 4 kids and retired from corporate life. He went on to support Jane in her passions and together they built a successful jewelry business.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob found great joy in serving others. A highlight of his life was serving a full-time mission with Jane in Hana Maui, HI — a place that held a special place in his heart.

He was known affectionately as “Shakey Jake” to close friends and “Bubba” or “Grandpa” to those closest to him. Bob lived a life defined by devotion - to his family and his faith. Whether it was around a campfire in Yellowstone, relaxing on a beach in Hawaii, or playing a card game at home, his legacy is one of unwavering love, enduring faith and generosity. He lived his life with integrity and purpose.

This world is a better place because our Dad walked through it. We love you, Dad—until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1480 Phillips Street, Kaysville, UT. A viewing will be held at the same location beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment services will be held at Ogden City Cemetery at 12:30 PM.
