Robert E (Bob) Koebernick

Bob Koebernick passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2024 of sepsis. Bob was born in Des Moines, IA on February 13, 1972. He attended

Urbandale schools from kindergarten to graduation in 1991. He was a student at the University of Iowa for the next 3 years. 


Bob did roofing for several years in the Des Moines area before moving to Eugene, Ore; then Grand Canyon for 7 years; then Portland , Ore

where he worked for Orepac, a wholesale building materials supplier. He transferred with Orepac to Denver, Co. His qualifications

fit his job perfectly. He worked for a great boss and for a great company. His sport of choice was hiking. When he lived in the

Grand Canyon, he hiked and camped all the trails many times. He continued hiking around the west coast and the Denver area.

He also rode in RAGBRAI (Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) with his brother Bill in 2016. He did an art project of

Intricate mazes of all 50 states. He is predeceased by Grandparents Elmer and Lydia Koebernick, Bob and Shirley

Sanders, aunt Marlys Benjamin and his brother Bill Koebernick.


Surviving are his parents Bernie and Becky Koebernick of Urbandale, his sister Anne Koebernick of WA, aunts and uncles

Kate and Jack Earley of FL, Mike and Susie Sanders of WA, Steve Sanders and Karen Grabau of Mn and 6 cousins.


Memorial services will be on Monday, July 8, 2024 at Westkirk Presbyterian Church, Urbandale IA. Visitation is at 10 AM, services at 11AM and 

luncheon at noon. Bob's ashes will be placed in a columbarium in McDivitt Cemetery in Urbandale, IA.
