McConnell, Robert “Bob” J., 67, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 28, 2025. Born May 24, 1958, Altoona, son of the late Donald T. and Anna F. (Szczechowicz) McConnell. Also preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances “Fran” J. (Pizzitola) McConnell. Survived by his sister, Beverly (Ed) Wilk of Lilly; brother, Dennis (Becky) McConnell of Wyoming; nephew, Edward (Cathy) Wilk of Altoona; niece, Anne (Steven) Noland of Cassandra; great niece, Haley Noland of Cassandra; many other nieces and nephews; his two beloved cats, Bubby and Willie; and his close friends, John and Ann Bender. Bob was proud to grow up on the McConnell family farm and had a passion for International Harvesters. Bob graduated from Penn Cambria High School in 1976. After high school, he attended school in Toledo, Ohio to learn to be a butcher. He then worked at Latterner’s Market in Cresson as a butcher for a short time before moving to Elizabeth, New Jersey where he worked at American Envelope. After several years in New Jersey, Bob moved back home and worked at Cenveo Envelope in Bellwood. Bob was an Auxiliary Life Member at the Sankertown VFW Post 7377. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and NASCAR races. Most of all, Bob cherished spending time with his family. At the family’s request, all services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mending Hearts Animal Rescue at https://www.mhanimalrescue.org/donate.
