Mr. Robert “Bob” Wayne Moore, age 74 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on February 21, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be conducted on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Carroll officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer.

He was born January 13, 1950, in Dyer, TN; the son of the late John Wesley “Jack” and Mary Lisbeth Evans Moore. He lived his entire life serving his community. He started answering calls for the city after hours in his bedroom. From there, he and his father started what is now known as Gibson County 911. He was a true public servant to his community. He loves his family, but they all understood that his community came first. He would always say “When that alarm goes off, someone needs help.” He worked at Gibson County 911 as a dispatcher and director from 1968 to 2017 when he retired. His true passion was the Dyer Fire Department. He served from 1964 – 2021 as a firefighter, assistant chief, and chief.  He served as an alderman for the city of Dyer from 2016 until his death.

He always wanted what was best for the community and always strived to make it better. After he retired, he took up talking on Ham radio, and was known as K04FC0. He talked to people all over the world, and this fulfilled his love of talking to people. He could always find something to talk about. He had so much knowledge that needed to be shared.

He is survived by his wife Cynthia Moore; daughters, Alecia Kosark (Kevin), Laura Dearman (Tony); stepsons, Tim Elliott (Rebecca), Joseph Elliott (Michele); grandchildren, Chandler Kosark, Kara Beth Kosark; step-grandchildren, Ann Taylor Elliott, Phillip Elliott, Franklin Elliott, Nick Elliott (Alison), Kirby Simmons (Kyle), Jacob Elliott; great-granddaughter Elliott Simmons; sister, Beth Rudd; and nephew, Brandon Rudd (Jessica). He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John Evans Moore; and his first wife, Delores Marie Plunkett Moore.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time at 2:00PM on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Robert “Bob” Wayne Moore.
