Born on May 18, 1965, in Huntsville, Alabama, he was the son of Carolyn Blackburn Odom and the late Hugh Odom. He graduated in 1983 from Northview High School in Dothan, Alabama. He went to Florida State University where he graduated in 1990 with a criminology degree. Bob was a police chief in Midway, Florida, and an investigator for the Florida Parole Commission. He owned Oscar’s Pizza in Havana, Florida for 14+ years.

Bob was a true delight to everyone he came into contact with. To know him was to love him. His sense of humor was one of a kind and could light up any room he walked into. Bob always made everyone he came into contact with smile ear to ear, especially his Penny. He never let her go a day without showing his simple acts of love. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, friend, and “OG” to his granddaughter.

Bob was an honest, hardworking, and passionate man with undeniable love for those around him. His restaurant, Oscar’s in Havana, was a true representation of his loyalty and commitment to his family and community. Bob was a loving and selfless man who continually poured into his family, friends, and community.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Lamar Page; grandmother, Dena Blackburn; and grandfather, Robert C. Blackburn.

Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Penny Page Odom of Havana, Florida; son, Robert Powell Odom of Tallahassee, Florida; daughter, Caroline Elizabeth Odom of Lula, Georgia; mother, Carolyn Blackburn Odom of Dothan, Alabama; step-son, Dylan Howard and fiancée Karalee Holton of Moultrie, Georgia; sister, Celia Darden and husband Mark of Huntsville, Alabama; granddaughter, Julia Howard; mother-in-law, Christine Page of Norman Park, Georgia; special dogs, Reagan and Roxy; and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

The family is asking all family, friends and merchants of Havana to please attend a Celebration of Life being held for Bob at Oscar’s in Havana on Saturday, July 13th. We are tentatively planning for the afternoon hours, but will update accordingly.
