Robert "Bob" W. Toomey, Sr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the age of 80.

Bob was the beloved husband to Catherine "Cathy" Toomey for 53 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving children Megan Toomey, Robert Toomey, Jr. (Lauren), Karon Martyn (Keith), Matthew Toomey (Kirby) and Kate Titlow (John), his sister Mary McLaughlin, and his 12 grandchildren.

Bob, or affectionately known as "Mez Man, Gomez," was born in Germantown, PA on November 15, 1944. He was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School and Cardinal Dougherty High School. He served as a Private First Class in the Vietnam War in Cam Ranh Bay from 1966-1968.

After Vietnam, Bob met the love of his life in Cathy. They raised their children in Olney with friends who were family. Those close bonds carried on to Glenside as they became grandparents. Their house was always full of children, love and laughter. Those were Pop-pop's favorite things and he enjoyed them til the very end.

He was a proud member of the Roofers Local 30 and Chapter 590 Vietnam Veterans of America. Bob loved racing cars at Atco, riding his motorcycle down to Florida, fishing and going to the shooting range.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Bob's family on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 1:00 PM until his Funeral Service at 3:00 PM at the Freed-Givnish Funeral Home, 124 N. Easton Rd., Glenside, PA 19038. His interment will be handled privately by the family at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of sending flowers, contributions in Bob's name may be made to the Travis Manion Foundation, for veterans and families of fallen heroes.
