Robert William Bolitho

Robert William (Bill) Bolitho, 73, formerly of New Jersey and a longtime resident of Hyde Park, died on December 7, 2023.
Born on March 14, 1950, in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late William K. And Vera (Zavracky) Bolitho.
He was a graduate of F.D. Roosevelt High School, Dutchess Community College, and SUNY, Plattsburgh.
He retired from West Point, as a general groundskeeper. He received numerous awards for his groundskeeping. He was an avid lover of astronomy and a dedicated member of Mid-Hudson Model Master's (A local model airplane club).
Robert was a communicant of Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Hyde Park, where he also served as an usher.
Bill is survived by his great niece, Dannika J. Bolitho, Hyde Park and great nephew, John Messick. Bill is also survived by his nephew, John VonGonten and wife Beth of Hyde Park. Survivors also include his cousins and their families, Paul Zavracky of MA and Philip Zavracky of Ohio, and David Zavracky of New Jersey, and Matthew Zavracky of Kentucky, and Veronica Brown of London, England.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Ann Bolitho and Susan and her husband Tony VonGonten.
The Bolitho family would also like to especially thank Brian H. Gahran, Bill's dear life-long friend.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, Rte. 9, Hyde Park on Friday, December 22, 2023. Donations may be made to Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 2 Harvey Street, Hyde Park, NY 12538 in Bill's honor or a charity of your choice. The burial of Bill's ashes will be private at Fairview Cemetery, Fairview, NJ.
