On December 7th of 1961 he married Marjorie Zollinger and together they raised their four children just outside of Creston.
Bob worked as a mason most of his life. He first worked for Gasser Masonry and eventually became self-employed.
Bob was baptized in the Apostolic Church in 1954 and was a lifelong member of the church.
He had many hobbies including gardening, cooking and winemaking. Bob felt it was important for people to know about his childhood and wrote a book detailing his early life to share with others. He was a very kind and generous man and loved to share the "fruits of his labors" with others.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; sister, Betty Spafford; and brothers, Edward and Lewis Troutman.
Services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rittman Apostolic Christian Church, 10699 Steiner Road, Rittman with Ministers of the Church officiating. The burial will follow at the Apostolic Church Cemetery.
