Mr. Robert "Pooh Man" Eugene Booker, Jr., 57, of Peoria, IL passed away at 5:42 pm on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital.
Robert was born on September 24, 1966 in Covington, TN to Robert and Mary (Smith) Booker, Sr.
Robert was a very caring and loving man. He was very competitive at everything! He did not like to lose! In his youth, he was a boxer, traveling throughout the South. He formerly worked for Churches Chicken. He was an amazing chef who loved to cook, but barbequing and baking was his specialty. Robert also loved to fish, listen to his blues music and dance. Robert was a family man who loved and enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren and siblings.
Robert leaves to cherish his precious memory; his parents, Robert and Mary Booker, Sr.; three sons, Marco Brown, Robert Brown and Bobby Cagle, III; two daughters, Ky'loni Booker and Shanese (Donar) Smith; two god daughters, Natiya Nunn and Kanesha "Momma Cat" White; three brothers, Darrell (Tequila) Booker, Sr., Charles Booker and Danny Booker all of Peoria, IL; two sisters, Mary "Jackie" Clark of Covington, TN and Jennifer (Evester) Polnitz of Peoria, IL; his former wife and friend, Dorcas Booker; nineteen grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who loved him. He is preceded in death by one daughter, Natasha Brown; maternal grandparents; Sam and Dochie Smith and paternal grandparents Eddie and Alma Lou Booker and a granddaughter, Mar'Kyah Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, August 2, 2024 at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church with a visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10 am. Pastor Alvin Riley, Sr. will officiate.
