Robert H. Borgersen, 87, of Ramsey, New Jersey, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
Born on January 10, 1937 to parents Erling and Alice Borgersen. Bob grew up in Baldwin, New York and graduated from Oceanside High School in 1954. He graduated from Cortland Teacher's College and became a high school football coach. He later became a Sales Representative in the insurance industry in which he worked for several years.
Bob is survived by his wife Julliet to whom he married on August 31, 1968 at the Holy Cross Armenian Church in Union City, New Jersey. They remained happily married for over 55 years until his passing. Bob is also survived by his son Andrew and wife Heather, along with his daughter Renee and her husband Erik. In addition, Grandpa Bob leaves behind his 5 grandchildren – Amber, Ryan, Hailey, Grant and Alyssa. He loved and cherished them so much. He was also a loving 'Uncle Bob' to his nephews Gary (and his wife Andrea) & Drew (and his wife Barbara). He is also survived by several grandnephews and grandnieces.
Bob was a true family man. He always put his family first above all others. He would never hesitate to take time off from work to coach sporting activities or just be there for any events that his children were involved in. He would include his wife and children on his business trips during their breaks from school by bringing them along to places like Niagara Falls, Washington D.C. and Newport R.I. Bob's truest love was his wife, Julliet. The two of them were practically inseparable, whether it was going to church together, attending luncheons or just being there for moral support.
Bob was a long-time parish council member at Holy Cross Armenian Church and later a member of the St. Leon's Armenian Church. He was also an avid bowler and golfer and continued to play the game up until last year.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Valley Hospital in Paramus as well as the staff at Sunrise of Woodcliff Lake for their diligent care.
As the church meant so much to Bob, we ask that In lieu of flowers please consider donations to either Holy Cross Armentian Church of Union City or St. Leon's Armenian Church in Fair Lawn, New Jersey.
Family and friends are welcomed at Basralian Funeral Home on Sunday, August 18th from 4-8PM for a viewing.
