OLDTOWN – Robert Bradley "Butch" "Bob" Malamis, Sr., 79, of Oldtown, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at home surrounded by his family.
Born on September 17, 1943, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Gilbert Nash and James and Phyllis (Scott) Malamis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Poetter; and brother, Samuel Malamis.
Bob was a graduate of Oldtown High School, class of 1961. He proudly served his country as a US Navy Seabee MCB-3. Later, he joined the US Army and became a member of the military police. He retired from the Allegany County Engineering Department after more than 30 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, of 57 years and 7-1/2 months, Patricia "Tessy" (Carder) Malamis; children, Dr. Robert "Bobby" Malamis, Atlanta, GA, Danny Malamis and wife, Jody, LaVale, MD, Teresa Malamis White and husband, John, Cresaptown, MD; grandchildren, Daniel Malamis, II, Dustin Malamis and wife, Alexis, Emmett Malamis, David Malamis, Mia Malamis, Luke Malamis, Taylor White, Hayley White, and Alyson White; a great grandson expected in March 2023; siblings, Phyllis "Pan" T'sipinitis, Westminster, MD, and Ruth Tate, Hopewell, VA; sister-in-law, Linda Malamis, Cumberland, MD; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Charlee.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Sunday, October 23, 2022, from 3 to 6pm.
A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday, October 24, 2022, at 1pm. Family and friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Military honors will be accorded by the Ft. Cumberland Post 13 Honor Guard.
