Robert F. Breckel

Adrian – Robert F. Breckel, age 77, of Adrian joined his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at ProMedica Charlotte Stephenson Manor. Bob was born on July 8, 1945, in Adrian, the son of Arthur and Dorothy Jean (McLoughlin) Breckel. On September 27, 1969, in Adrian, he married Jill H. Black, and she survives. As a teenager he was a member of the Civilian Air Patrol which then led him to proudly serve his country in the United States Air Force. Bob had been employed as a Fire Fighter with the City of Adrian and later at Willow Run Airport as a public safety officer and trainer. After that he served as State Fire Marshall for the state of Michigan. He was a graduate of the Washtenaw County Law Enforcement Program and had extensive emergency training to help serve and protect the community including having his own business "Emergency Training". Bob was a certified Flight Instructor and held his own private pilot's license. Faith and family were the two most important aspects of Bob's life.
In addition to his wife, Jill, Bob is survived by his two children, Rob (Carrie) Breckel and Mindy (Dave) Bailey; grandchildren, Joey and Carlie Breckel, Emelie Kreger, Michael Bailey, and Lindsey (Devon) Morrison; two brothers, Randie (Liz) Breckel and Rick (Shelly) Breckel; and stepsister, Jan Toth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Breckel and Dorothy Jean Brown; sister, Sue Wilcox; and brother, David Breckel.
Visitation for Bob will be held on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson-Marry Funeral Home, Adrian with Pastor Jeff Malin officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the start of funeral services in the funeral home. Burial will be held in Lenawee Hills Memorial Park, Adrian.
