Robert Bruce Brummitt was born on January 14, 1946 in Grand Prairie, Texas to
Robert Bruce and Nettie Faye (Crosby) Brummitt. He left this earthly body December 6, 2021 in Gorman, Texas on the wings of an eagle bound for another adventure and to join his family and friends.
He married Burma Broom in Midlothian, Texas on January 20, 2001 and through the next 20 years they made many trips, adventures and memories. A gentle soul and sweetheart, he was my rock and soul mate. He cared deeply for his children/grandchildren and family.
He worked at Lockheed Martin his entire career of 35 years and was most proud of his involvement with the space shuttle programs. After retirement from Lockheed he wanted to try country living having spent his entire life in the Metroplex so he moved to Gorman and enjoyed farm life with the chickens, goats and donkeys. He loved going to Vegas and playing Texas Hold'em Poker especially on the "Lockheed boy's" trips. And he was always ready for a family get together for a meal, homemade ice cream and visiting.
Robert is preceded by his parents, Bruce and Nettie Brummitt, his in-laws Tom and Lucille Broom, his adopted father in-law J E Mikeska, his brother-in-law Tommy Broom and sister in-law Janie Broom.
He is survived by his wife, Burma Brummitt of Gorman, daughter, Regina Lindbloom/ Kevin, grandchildren, Jonathan, Thomas and Emma; son Bret Brummitt/ Amanda, granddaughters Lillie and Mattison, sister Carol Bailey /James; step children Jennifer Cypher, Elizabeth Cypher and Patrick Cypher/ Kristi, Kevin Spraggins/ Sandy, aunts Pauline Prince and Linda Hahmann, adopted mother-in-law Gayle Mikeska, his "other wife" and sister-in-law Diane Burton and Gwen Brummitt, the mother of his children along with numerous other nieces, nephews, in-laws and extended family members who loved him and will cherish his memories forever.
