Robert Brusca Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by All County Funeral Home-Del Lago Chapel - Lake Worth on Oct. 17, 2023.
Mr. Robert Brusca age 78 of Delray Beach, FL passed away September 20, 2023. He was born February 2, 1945, in Bronx, NY to the late Frank and Jennifer Brusca.
Robert attended Cardinal Hayes High School for Boys in the Bronx and in 1965 married his high school sweetheart Diane DeBlasi, his wife for over 54 years. After the birth of his two sons, Anthony and Joseph, the family relocated to Florida in 1971, first residing in Plantation and then relocating to Margate where the family remained until 1997. Bob, as he was more commonly known by his friends, was a manager for Lums Restaurants, became an expert washer and dryer repairman for a variety of companies, and in 1979 joined Southern Bell as a service technician where he remained for 27 years before retiring in 2006. Bob and Diane relocated to Delray Beach in 1997 where they became members of the Polo Trace community surrounded by many of their closest friends while enjoying the retired life.
Along with his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife Diane in 2019 and son Joseph in 2000.
Robert is survived by son Anthony Brusca, daughter-in-law Laura Brusca, granddaughters Sarah Collins and Hannah Brusca, grandson Nate Collins and great-granddaughter Arlette Collins.
Bob was an expert poker player and enjoyed a good game of bocce ball. He was a member of the Polo Trace HOA Social Committee where he spearheaded many events to include an annual community dog parade and Bingo nights. During his retirement Bob and Diane traveled extensively throughout North America and Europe with many of their friends.
Bob was a very passionate and gregarious husband, father and friend who was generous to all. That he never met a stranger would be the most appropriate description of Bob Brusca.
Graveside services were held at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery on October 6, 2023, at 10:30 am followed by a reception at Bob's home for his closest friends and family.
