Robert Wayne Bryner

Mr. Robert Wayne Bryner (Bob), 83, of Jacksonville, Florida, loving husband and father, died Sunday, February 5, 2023. He was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and had lived in Jacksonville since 1957.
Bob was a long-time member of Lakewood United Methodist Church. He was employed by Southern Bell for 36 years and was a member of the Coast Guard Reserve. His many interests throughout his life included Boy Scouts of America, Amateur Radio, building model ships, woodworking, and after retiring, volunteered with HabiJax. He loved animals and over the years, had adopted several "rescue" pets.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rebecca Jane Bryner (Becky), one daughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Bryner (Libby), a sister, Eleanor Jean Weeks, brothers-in-law, John Smith (Billie Kay) and Bill Smith, sister-in-law, Paulette Smith, nephews, Tommy Weeks (Denise) and Devon Smith (Susan), and nieces, Tracy Thomason (Clint), Amy Girod (Frank) and several great-nephews and great-nieces.
During the last several months of his life, Bob received loving care at The Terrace of Jacksonville. A special thank-you, also, to Vitas Hospice for their support and compassion when we needed it most.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 4th, 11:00 a.m. at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 6133 San Jose Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
