Robert A. Byczkowski, 43, of Vernon, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, 2024. Robert was born on April 28, 1980, in Warsaw, Poland, son to Stanislaw Byczkowski and Zofia (Siedlecka) Byczkowska.
Robert grew up in Poland and completed his schooling in Warsaw, after which he served in the Polish Military for two years. In March of 2001, he and his parents relocated to the United States where he resided in East Hartford for some time before ultimately settling in Vernon. Robert was employed with various entities (including Hockanum Crossing in Vernon), as a construction worker for over 22 years before his passing. If you had the pleasure of knowing him, you knew his hardworking mentality and perseverance is what defined him. He was always there for anyone in need of a helping hand and his compassion for others was endless. He was extremely intelligent and knowledgeable in many different areas of life. He was also kindhearted and a huge animal lover. He cared for his family and friends immensely, and always put them before himself. His sense of humor always put a smile on anyone's face who came across him and he always lit up the room with his presence. He was very outgoing and was able to make friends anywhere he would go. He was truly loved by many. His faith was also important to him. He received his Sacraments from his Parish in Warsaw, and he attended Masses at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford. Although our time with Robert has come to an end, his smile, work ethic, kindness and demeanor will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Robert is survived by his sister, Justyna Zajaczkowska of Vernon; his two nieces, Aleksandra Zajaczkowska and Maja Lewartowska; his nephew, Maksymilian Lewartowski; as well as numerous family members and friends in Poland and the United States.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 4, 2024, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at SS. Cyril & Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Guests are asked to please go directly to the church. There will be no calling hours. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
