Robert Wayne Cannon, age 70 of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away suddenly Monday, February 19, 2024.
Robert was born August 16, 1953 at Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona to Bessie Mae Lyons and Talton Cannon. Robert lived in Arizona for most of his life, beginning a lifelong career as a musician. His passion for music began early in life, with playing drums at the age of 12. He self-taught guitar to support writing his own music. Being left-handed, he learned to play a right-handed guitar upside down. Robert's primary musical talent was his gift-from-God voice. He resided in Aspen, Colorado for three years as a full-time musician where it was his privilege to have big-name artists in his audience and sitting in with the band. Some of the bands he performed with were Sky Blue, The John Joy Band, Dead Cat Orchestra, Soulcatcher, Otis Campbell Band, Rancho Notorious, and Cannon and Price. Robert recorded multiple CD's that allow his talents to live on.
In 1995, Robert unknowingly met the love of his life, Denice Fleischfresser, while she was looking for live music. As a musician, there was often a "day job" with his favorite being the relocation, nurturing, and transplantation of indigenous, rare, and endangered desert plants.
In 2013 Robert hesitantly moved from AZ to WI. He fell in love with Wisconsin and the "free air-conditioning" that is a true Wisconsin winter. He especially loved Hartford and its oddities including the noon siren on Saturdays and the nighttime blinking traffic lights.
Robert will be remembered for having a sweet, soft heart and being the best friend of 23 years and husband of 12 ½ years to Denice Cannon; loving father of Dylan Cannon (Jade) of AZ and Stephanie Evans Parker (Ron) of WA, loving stepfather of Kristopher Montoya, Kelly McGuire (Amy), Paul (Melissa) and Aaron (Emily) Montoya; 14 cherished grandchildren including Avery Cannon and Jacob Evans; dear sisters-in-law, Diane Gaus of Pendelton, Indiana and Linda (Kevin) Jelleyman of Slinger, WI. He is further survived by loved nieces and nephews, other relatives, and great friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Roper, Johnny Little, and Kevin Martin; parents-in-law, Norman and Muriel Fleischfresser, sister-in-law, Debbie Fleischfresser, and brother-in-law, Charles Gaus.
A Celebration of Robert's life will be coordinated by his family on a future date in Arizona. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that you do as they often did and share at a meal with loved ones at your favorite family-owned restaurant.

I had the honor and privilege to play with Bobby in Sky Blue Water band at Varsity Inn in Tempe, AZ. He was big and strong but had the kindest heart and it was a joy to sing harmonies with him. My fondest memory is playing bass and watching him crack his whip on stage in perfect time during Long Hard Ride by Marshall Tucker band, now that was exciting!

Bobby was a beloved part of our band, Sky Blue, in Aspen for three years. Recently the band and I have been trying to locate him, and we´re deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Although sad, we are happy to know that he lives such a wonderful life and was well loved and doing what he loved to do, he will be fondly remembered
