Robert Patrick Casey, affectionately known as "Robo" to his friends and family in South Boston, passed away on January 11, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia. He was born on July 2, 1955, in South Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Robert and Patricia Foley Casey.
Robert's passions were many; he was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots, demonstrating his unwavering love for football. His enthusiasm also extended to rugby and horse racing, where he cherished every moment spent enjoying these sports. Alongside his interests in athletics, Robert found joy in travel, particularly relishing the experiences gained from cruising, as well as the tranquility that fishing brought him.
A man of great heart, Robert shared a profound and special bond with two of his five grandchildren, Seth and Quinn, who were amongst some of his proudest treasures in life. He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Robin Casey, who stood by him through all of life's journeys. The family includes his son and best friend, Brendan Casey (Deanna), Timothy Robinson, and Joshua Robinson (Jennifer). He is mourned by his brothers, Bryan Casey and Joseph Casey, and his sisters, Sharon Nolan and Laura O'Bryan. Robert was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Seth, Nevan, Jada, Quinn, and James. He will be greatly missed by his kitty.
Robert is preceded in death by his favorite dog, Duke.
His legacy of love, loyalty, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind. May he rest in peace.
