We will miss Bob greatly. Especially his wit and laughter and encouraging words. He always had positive things to say and loved to joke with all of us.
I am glad that my daughter got to know him as well.
When I was a kid, he gave me my first job mowing lawns. Of course, he instructed me very carefully to teach me the way he wanted it done and always emphasized how to be safe while doing it.
Bob was a great neighbor and our families have been close since those days on San Bruno Way. We all send of you our condolences and share our fond remembrances of Bob -- your husband, your dad, and your grandfather.

He became more than a cousin, through his marriage to Fran. For over 50 years he had been a friend. A person we could speak comfortably with, share thoughts, trade advice. Laugh. Reminisce. And speak about hope, for our future. My most heartfelt condolences for your loss.

My condolences to the Cava family.
I'm sure my dad (Jay Muther) was happy to greet Mr. Cava and have coffee together!

A smile comes to my face when I think of Mr.Cava.I worked in his insurance agency and remember the many stories and words of wisdom he would share. He was a great boss and kind man.One time for my birthday he secretly paid for my lunch with friends at the Steinbeck House. In all these years I've never forgotten that.I can see him in that red VW bug roaring up to the office also. What a character. Our blessing goes out to Fran and family.
