Uncasville- Robert R. Chester, age 93, of Uncasville, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025.
Born on May 3, 1932, to Arlene and Frank Chester of Norwich, Robert lived a long and full life marked by kindness, humor, and an unwavering work ethic. A proud U.S. Army veteran, he carried his sense of duty and dedication into everything he did.
After his service, Robert spent many years working at Pfizer, where his hard work and dependability earned the respect of everyone who knew him. He had a lifelong love of sports, vintage cars, traveling, and his nightly ritual of watching Jeopardy!.
Robert will be remembered for his generous spirit, gentle humor, and the quiet strength he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a special bond with his daughter Donna, with whom he shared countless memories and an enduring closeness that brought great joy to both their lives.
He was predeceased by his beloved son Gary, stepson William, and great-granddaughter Kaycee. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Phyllis; his children Debra Coletta and husband James of Massachusetts, Randy Chester of Tennessee, Donna Bryant, Judy Chester, and David Chester of Connecticut; and his stepdaughter Susan Creamer and husband Paul Hervieux also of Connecticut. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild who will continue to carry his love and legacy forward.
Robert's life was one defined by love-love for his family, his friends, and the simple joys that made every day meaningful. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
