Robert A. Cole, 92, of Marcy and formerly of Old Forge, NY, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026, at Wynn Hospital in Utica.

Born on March 21, 1933, in Utica, Robert was the son of Howard L. and Gertrude Siedsma Cole. He was a proud graduate of Utica Free Academy and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Robert retired from Kelsey-Hayes after more than 41 years as a dedicated tool and die maker.

Bob was deeply involved in his community. He served with the McCauley Mountain Ski Patrol for 42 years and was a longtime member of Crestwood Golf Club in Marcy. He cherished the friendships he built through skiing and golf and remained active for many years.

He is survived by his beloved life partner, Emilie Welpe; her children, Mark (Renee) Welpe and Jennifer (Martin Santa Maria) Heinrich; his grandson, James Shamis (Sonya Murray); his great-grandchildren, Hillary Shamis, Clover Shamis, James P. Shamis, and Katelyn Shamis, and their mother, Denise Shamis; his brother, Richard Cole; his nephew, Jeffrey Cole; and his niece, Heidi Finkle.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Wynn Hospital for their compassionate care and support.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main Street, Whitesboro. Funeral services will follow immediately at 5:00 p.m. Interment will take place in the spring at Riverview Cemetery in Old Forge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
