Robert “Bobby” Corley, age 38, passed from this life into his Heavenly Father’s arms on July 9, 2013, and is now at peace.
Born in Akron, he was a life resident of the area, graduating from Ellet High School in 1993. Bobby attended Bowling Green State University and the University of Akron, and was an avid golfer and fisherman. He loved his family and friends.
Preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Heckelman and Lyle F. Pohly, and grandmother, Bettie Wood, he is survived by his father, Robert L. (Donna) Corley of Akron; mother, Terri (Lyle) Pohly of Tallmadge; brothers, Dan (Tiffani) Foltz and Jimmy Burns; sisters, Angelina (Tobie) Shriver, Christina Corley and Cortney Pohly; grandparents, Donald and Virginia Corley, Sally Heckelman (Jim Ingersoll), Wilma Pohly, and Paul Wood; nephew, Tyler Pohly; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral service will be Sunday, 1 p.m. at Hopkins Lawver Funeral Home, 547 Canton Road, Akron, Ohio 44312 with Rev. Brian Nutt officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Warrior’s Journey Home, c/o First Congregational Church, 85 Heritage Drive, Tallmadge, OH 44278.
