Robert Allan Daly

Robert Allan Daly, 75, of Greensboro, NC, beloved brother, husband, and father, passed away at home on January 7, 2026, with his dear wife, Trilby, by his side after a yearlong battle with acute myeloid leukemia. His passing leaves a void his family will be unable to fill.

He was born on the wide-open plains of Ponca City, Oklahoma, in 1950 to James Bradley "Dauntless" Daly and Dorothy Allan "Flash" Daly. At a young age he moved with his family to the island of Puerto Rico and lived in Ponce, which he called home for much of his childhood. There, he developed a love of sailing, kite surfing, and Cub Scouts, where he was an active member from 1961 to 1965 and received many honors.

In 1968, Bob attended Grove City College in Grove City, PA. He later graduated in 1973 from Bryant College in Smithfield, Rhode Island, where he majored in Business. He worked in retail sales of consumer products and retired in 2015. His hobbies included sailing his Hobie Cat, snow skiing, and, most of all, spending time at the beach with his family.

Bob was a loving husband to Trilby White Daly and a devoted father to Chelsea Marie Daly (born 1989), Laura Daly Peterson (born 1992), and Peyton Ashton Daly (born 1994). He often said their birth changed his life "for better or worse," and they felt that change through the love and support he always provided. Among the most enduring relationships of his life was the close and unbreakable bond he shared with his sister, Judy Anne Daly. Bob was strong-willed, dedicated, and hardworking, always putting the needs of his family ahead of his own. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, deep love for his wife and daughters, and his ability to turn complete strangers into friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James Bradley Daly and Dorothy Allan Daly of Houston, TX. He is survived by his sister, Judy Anne Daly (Joel Deaton) of Salt Lake City, UT; his brother, James Bradley Daly, Jr. (Cheryl Daly) of Panama City, FL; his wife, Trilby White Daly of Greensboro, NC; his daughter, Chelsea Marie Daly of Raleigh, NC; his daughter, Laura Daly Peterson (Ethan James Peterson) of Rougemont, NC; and his daughter, Peyton Ashton Daly (David Takeo White) of Timberlake, NC.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
