Robert Pete Damron, age 87, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at his home.  Robert was born on June 13, 1936 to his parents the late Preacher John A. Damron and Angeline Prater Damron.  He was the husband of the late Betty Sue Tackett Damron, a retired coal miner for over thirty one years, and a believer of the Old Regular Baptist Faith.
     Along with his wife and parents, Robert was preceded in death by one grandchild, Matthew McKinnley Damron, and several brothers and sisters.
     Robert is survived by one son, Robert Ken (Sandra) Damron, one daughter, Hazel Ann (Patrick) Cable, one brother, Daniel (Brenda Gail) Damron, one sister, Lillie (Thurman) Wright, five grandchildren, Angeline (Ryan) Reynolds, Scott Cable, Dimitri Metaxas, Charles Damron, Robbie Damron, two great grandchildren, Noah Reynolds and Sofia Reynolds, and a host of loving family and friends.
     Visitation will be Wednesday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home.  Church services will be Wednesday and Thursday at 7p.m.  The funeral will be Friday, May 3, 2024 at 12 noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Teddy Honaker, Mike Justice, Jimmy Dale Sanders, Stoney Blackburn, and others officiating.   Burial will follow in the Damron Family Cemetery at Little Creek.
