Robert A. Data, 80, of New Castle passed away the evening of April 11, 2024 at his residence after a prolonged illness surrounded by his loving family.
Born in New Castle on July 18, 1943 Robert was the son of the late Matthew and Lottie Potoczny Data.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, the former Ruthellen (Suz) White who he married on March 7, 1981.
For many years Robert had worked for Hickory Volkswagen as a Volkswagen mechanic. He had also owned Import Auto in Sharon, PA. Robert also had worked at Lockley Manufacturing.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed watching Westerns on television. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Roberts greatest joy was spending time with his family and constant companion, his dog Boo Boo.
In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by his children, Michael Data (Roxanne), Bobbie Schnieder (Jack) and Christy Grubb (Matthew), two sisters, Marliee Cratty and Barbara Hasson, four grandchildren, Ryan, Macy, Domenick and Dale and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Carson.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Data.
Honoring his wishes services are private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the New Castle Public Library, 207 E. North St., New Castle, PA 16101.
