Robert E. Daulton, affectionately known to many as Bob, Pastor Bob, or Bumpy by his cherished grandchildren, passed from this world on July 30th 2025 in Taylors, SC. He spent his life dedicated to serving God and the communities of his residence, which he did with his compassionate nature, resilient spirit, and witty demeanor. His passion for the Word of God led him to shepherd Bethany Baptist Church of Chicago and Beth Eden Baptist Church of Fitchburg for over four decades, touching countless lives along the way. His dedication was not only reflected in his pastoral work but also in his devotion to his family, whom he deeply loved.
Robert had a deep-rooted relationship with God that guided his life. He was deeply committed to the truth of I Corinthians 1:18, preaching that the cross was foolishness to those who perish but was the power of God to those who are saved. His love for the Lord was evident in his weekly sermons, home visits, and hospital care. Robert's life was characterized by the wisdom mentioned in James 3:17 - pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality or hypocrisy. He loved to play the piano, sing, whistle, laugh, work in the yard and go for a walk. His joy for life was infectious and brought light to those around him. He loved his country, serving as an Army Reservist for 5 years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; sons Rob (Tracey), Jon (Kim), and Darrell (Kirsten); and his daughter Lydia (Brennen) and seventeen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Lydia, his brother Tim, sister Carol Koehn, and stepmothers Ruth and Gloria. His legacy lives on through his children, grandchildren, and the many lives he touched through his pastoral work and community service.
We encourage those who knew Robert to share their memories and upload photos to his memorial page www.brandonfuneral.com, to celebrate and remember a life lived with love, dedication, and service.
