FITCHBURG - Daniel A. Luoma, aged 80, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, born on November 23, 1944 in Gardner, MA, passed away on August 3, 2025.
Daniel, a man of dedication and humor, led a life filled with purpose, laughter, and love. He was a loyal and beloved figure in the community, having grown up in Fitchburg and graduating from Fitchburg High School with the Class of 1962. As Captain of his high school ice hockey team, he exhibited leadership and sportsmanship that carried through his life. His dedication to his community continued as he coached Pee-Wee Hockey and Little League Baseball, even skating in the Old Timers Hockey league in Fitchburg for many years.
Daniel was a hardworking electrician, spending 35 rewarding years at Bemis Bag, formerly of Pepperrell, before taking his skills to Modern Dispersions in Leominster.
In his personal life, Daniel's dedication never faltered. He was a passionate golfer and a 45-year member of Monoosnock Country Club. His jovial spirit was most apparent at his favorite spot, the 19th Hole, where he was known to share a funny story or two.
Daniel is survived by his life partner, Mary Nurse; two sons, Daniel Luoma, Jr. and his wife Diane of Greenville, NH, Derek Luoma and his wife Jennifer of Leominster; two grandchildren, Kayla Luoma of Clinton, Anthony Luoma of Florida; a brother, Richard Luoma and his wife Sandra of Pennsylvania; his aunt who was like a second mother to him, Carolyn Parrish of Leominster; Mary's daughter, Meighan Ruschioni and her daughter, Chloe both of Princeton.
Daniel was predeceased by his wife Maureen (Charpentier) Luoma and his parents, Reino and Sylvia (Brownell) Luoma.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 from 11 am to 1 pm in the Brandon Funeral Home, 305 Wanoosnoc Road, Fitchburg, followed by a graveside service at 1:15 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Fitchburg.
