Leominster - Joan L. (Adams) Arsenault, 81, of Leominster formerly of Fitchburg and Gardner, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester.
Joan was born in Fitchburg on December 9, 1943, a daughter of the late Otto and Lillian (Ovaska) Adams and grew up in Townsend, graduating from Spalding Memorial High School in 1961. She also attended Mount Wachusett Community College.
Joan worked for several years at the Fitchburg Sentinel in the accounts receivable/collections department prior to her retirement. Many years ago she worked at the former King's Department Store and former Depot Distributors both in Fitchburg as well as the former Almy's Department Store in Gadner.
Joan was an avid reader in talented cross stitcher.
She is predeceased by her husband, Thomas R. Arsenault, and her sister Joyce L. Maguire. Joan is survived by cousin Eino Ovaska of Ashburnham, Aunt "Sandy" Trembly of Leominster, and many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday, October 20 from at 11 AM in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg followed by a burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Fitchburg. A calling hour in the funeral home will be held on Monday morning prior to the funeral from 10 to 11 AM.
