Robert Michael Davis (Mike), age 75, of Kanosh, Utah passed away peacefully in his home November 14,2024. Born August 22, 1949, in Artesia CA. to Freeman Burton Davis and Wilma Jean Hensley. He married his sweetheart Helen Louise Howell July 10, 1971, In Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mike was the oldest of 3 children and was a terror to his siblings Phillip and Jeannie but loved them and protected his little sister Jeannie. He enjoyed racing midget cars with his brother and won several trophies. He spent his early childhood years in Colorado on his grandparents' ranch and when his grandparents moved to Artesia, CA. His parents then followed where they lived with their grandparents as they built their home along with several repair shops where he also enjoyed playing and spending quality time with his cousins. Sometime later his family moved to Boron, CA, where he attended and graduated Boron High School in 1967.
Mike was drafted in July of 1969 to the United States Army. In November of 1969 he was deployed to serve in the Vietnam War until January 1971. He returned home to his sweetheart Helen of 53 years to start his family and resided in Barstow, CA. until 1982 when he moved his family to Kanosh, UT.
There Mike spent his time working various construction and farming jobs including working for the town of Kanosh. He worked for the Mitton Dairy Farm for 10 years where he instilled the value of hard work in his two oldest sons Mike and Rick and daughter Stephanie. Mike enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his sons, training horses and teaching his children how to ride them. He had a love for building miniature vintage wagons and trains by hand. His passion for trains was so great he built an extensive miniature train track in his home. He had a love of vintage cars and even spent time refurbishing a 1968 Chevy Truck. Mike was extremely friendly and sociable with everyone he met and liked by his neighbors who shared many conversations and memories with him.
Mike is survived by his longtime sweetheart Helen Louise (Howell) Davis Kanosh, UT. Brother Phillip Davis (Pheonix, AZ.) Sister Lavina Jean Howes (Jim) Covington, MI. Children; Son Mike Howell/ Davis, Tooele, UT, Son Rick Davis, Roy UT., Daughter Stephanie Davey (Zack) Kaysville, UT.; 6 Grandchildren, Taylor (Jason) Davis, Danielle Davis, Justice Davis, Gavin (Maci) Davey, Hayley Davey, Braden Bigelow; Great grandchild Aiden Burgos.
Mike is preceded in death by, Grandparents Freeman Pete Davis and Lavina Jean Davis, Father Freeman Burton Davis, Mother Wilma Jean Davis, Son Daniel Burton Davis, Uncles Lewis Davis, Edward Davis, William Davis, Junior Hensley.
Services will be held Saturday August 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 25 S Main St Kanosh, UT 84637.
