Robert Paul Denault

Robert Paul Denault passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 21, 2025, at the age of 80 at his home in Virginia Beach, VA. Paul was born in Ottawa, ON, on May 15, 1945, the 2nd of four children to Raoul and Ella Denault (nee Bertholet). He graduated from the University of Ottawa with a BS in Chemistry in 1967 and went to work for Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) where he met his future wife Patricia Johnston. Pat and Paul were married November 23, 1968, in Pembroke, ON. They had three daughters, Christine, Andrea and Paula.
Paul's career in the nuclear field took him and his family to numerous cities within Canada and the United States. Work took him to many countries in Europe and Asia and he eventually retired where he started his career at AECL.
Up until the last few years of his life, Paul loved to play read, golf, bowl, play bocce ball and tend to his vegetable and flower gardens. He was active in his community associations, and took particular pride in sending out "the Blast" in Wellington-on-the-Lake. Paul took loving care of Pat, especially over the last few years.
Paul is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; his daughters Christine, Andrea and Paula; his sister Anne Bourbonnais (Paul); his sister Joan Denault (Glen Frasier); and his brother Daniel Denault (Debra) and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly.
Paul will be cremated as per his wishes. A Celebration of Life may be held at a future date.
