Robert Lawrence Dewett October 14, 1937 – July 4, 2025
Robert Lawrence Dewett, 87, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on July 4, 2025.
Born on October 14, 1937, in Fort Worth, Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B. Dewett and Evadean Willard Andrews Dewett; his brother, Thomas B. Dewett; and his sisters, Jean Shoup and Joyce Miles.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 59 years, Judith Dewett. Together they built a beautiful life and legacy, raising two children: Trevor Dewett and wife Aubrey, and daughter Alicia Jordan. He was a proud grandfather to Savanna Richard and husband Walker, Slade Dewett and wife Abby, Grant Seckel, and Sadie Stapp and husband Andrew. He was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Dean and Hinson Richard, and Vaylen Seckel.
Robert served four years in the U.S. Navy before dedicating his career to the printing industry. He worked as the head of the production department for Dyncorp Aerospace Operations for 38 years, and spent a total of 52 years as a skilled and respected printer. He also studied at Tarrant County Junior College and later returned as a printing instructor in the graphics lab, sharing his expertise with future generations.
A lifelong fan of the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Robert enjoyed it so much that he took a job working the ticket booth just to be a part of it all.
His faith was the foundation of his life. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Crowley for over 50 years, Robert served faithfully in numerous roles-including the bus ministry, Upward Basketball, and as a deacon. He especially loved greeting others with a warm smile and a kind word on Sunday mornings.
Robert was a quiet man with a sharp wit, a deep faith, and a fierce love for his country and family. He was proud to be a Navy veteran, and prouder still to be a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He lived with honor, served with humility, and loved with his whole heart. His presence will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Please leave the family condolences and share memories on this website.
