Robert Antonio "Tony" DiBartolomeo 64, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at WVU Wheeling Hospital. He was born on July 9, 1961, in Janesville, WI, son of the late Robert Edward and Cherry (Greve) DiBartolomeo. Tony was raised in Wheeling and developed a deep love for two lifelong passions: hockey and fireworks. Tony dedicated over 55 years to the Wheeling Amateur Hockey Association, where he found joy in teaching generations of children how to skate and play the game he so loved-a passion he shared with his father and passed down to his own children and grandchildren. He also found great fulfillment in working with his family at Ohio Fireworks in Bellaire, OH, bringing light and celebration to others. Professionally, Tony spent most of his career with Mutual Wholesalers Inc. of Wheeling, where many lifelong friends were made. Tony never met a stranger and made everyone feel like a friend. His infectious personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His absence leaves a void that can never be filled. Survivors include his son Chad DiBartolomeo (Dr. Brandy Morgan) and daughter Amy McGreal (Michael), both of Wheeling; his sister Elizabeth Francis (John); and five cherished grandchildren: Elyn DiBartolomeo, Westyn DiBartolomeo, Ian McGreal, Jack McGreal, and Paige McGreal. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM on June 20, 2026, at Caddy Camp in Oglebay Park, Wheeling, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to share your favorite stories and memories by emailing [email protected]. Tony's children would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the J.D. Miller Family, the Presutti Family, the Hartten Family, and the Gibbons Family for their love, guidance, and support throughout their father's life. "And I'll be halfway to Heaven with Paradise waitin' Just five miles away from wherever I am." - John Prine, "Paradise"
